Travel program
Syosset Travel Basketball
Players in Grades 2nd - 6th must play in the intramural program to play on a travel team.
Travel practices will be held in Syosset schools. Practice days will be usually Thursday or Friday. Practice time slots are held between 645-945pm. Practices will start mid-October and the games will begin end of November. The season ends in late march. Travel games will not conflict with SBL intramurals. Games will be played in Nassau and Suffolk County. The cost per player is $995/Season.
All game sites are less than 15 miles away:
West Hempstead, Jericho, Garden City, Mineola Westbury, Brookville Woodbury, Levittown Northport, Dix hills Hauppauge
Travel Team Eligibility Guidelines for Non-Residents
Purpose
To maintain the integrity of our program and ensure fairness, SBL has established the following guidelines for players residing outside of Syosset who wish to participate on our Travel Basketball Teams.
1. Core Eligibility Requirements
Non-Syosset residents must meet all of the following to be eligible for travel team consideration:
- Rookies Program Participation – Player must have actively participated in the SBL Rookies Program.
- Intramurals Enrollment – Player must be currently enrolled in the SBL Intramural League during the same season they wish to play travel.
2. Case-by-Case Review
- Players who do not fully meet the above requirements will not be automatically eligible.
- Exceptions may be considered only on a case-by-case basis, subject to review and approval by the SBL Administrative Board.
- All eligibility determinations for non-residents are final once ruled on by SBL administration.
- Families seeking exceptions must submit a written request to the SBL Administrative Board prior to travel roster finalization.
3. General Reminder
SBL reserves the right to amend these guidelines at any time in order to preserve program integrity and maintain our community focus.
